Efforts to improve the health of mothers, newborns and children have become a top priority for the government. The maternal mortality rate (MMR) is one of the main indicators of a country's health status, which indicates the capacity and quality of health services. In 2023, the MMR in Indonesia will reach 4,129 women. AKI is death due to complications from pregnancy or childbirth. The main factors causing maternal morbidity and mortality are anemia, bleeding 28%, eclampsia 24% and infection 11%.
Most maternal deaths are preventable, as health care solutions to prevent or manage complications are well known. All mothers need access to high-quality care during pregnancy, and during and after birth. It is very important that births with severe pre-eclampsia are assisted by professional health personnel with good risk management. Risk management is a process for measuring and assessing risks and creating strategies to handle risks.
This community service activity aims to increase midwives' knowledge regarding risk management in handling cases of severe pre-eclampsia at RSUD dr. Soekardjo Tasikmalaya. This community service method uses counseling methods and the media used is leaflets. The results obtained from this activity were a significant improvement regarding risk management for handling severe pre-eclampsia at RSUD dr. Soekardjo Tasikmalaya.
