Abstract

Speech delay is the one developmental disorders in children. It refers to the delay in toddlers' speech and language skills that is not in line with their age development. The issue of speech delay often affects children, particularly in the academic field, because problems with speech development indirectly hinder children, especially in their studies. In addition, children who have speech difficulties often face issues in social aspects as well. This will affect the child's social interactions with their social environment, which will significantly influence their development. The storytelling method through picture stories is an early intervention that is often chosen to stimulate speaking skills in children with speech delay. This community service activity aims to stimulate appropriate development in children as a preventive effort against developmental deviations, particularly in language skills.
The target of this community service is toddlers, mothers of toddlers, and class guardians. This community empowerment method uses training techniques and the media employed consists of illustrated storybooks. This community service activity is carried out through storytelling activities with children, parents, and the students' homeroom teachers.
